neutral Klaus Herrmann: Judging by the context (->description of a website), I don't think it can mean to bleed the picture off the edges. I almost fell for it, too. //Neat. Now I learned something - Anschnitt (in German) wouldn't work in a screen context. Thanks.

  -> why not? You sure can (visually) bleed a picture off the edges of a website page. But my posting was just meant as help for somebody else to come up with a term. Yours, BTW is good.
