Clarification request(s) and response
Susanne Rindlisbacher: 9:15pm Jul 6, 2006: Gibt es einen ganzen Satz dazu? "Sich lachen" klingt nicht deutsch.
Michele Fauble: 9:19pm Jul 6, 2006: Satz - Lacht ihr nur über eure Sparwitze.

Michele Fauble: 9:27pm Jul 6, 2006: Lachen über - ... lachen , not 'sich ... lachen'

Michele Fauble: 9:53pm Jul 6, 2006: Cheap joke? - Am I wrong then in interpreting 'Sparwitze' as jokes understood only to those making the jokes?

Michele Fauble: 9:54pm Jul 6, 2006: by those making the jokes -
Michele Fauble: 10:45pm Jul 6, 2006: Thanks - I guess I was wrong about a 'Sparwitz' being a joke the joke-makers were 'saving' for their own amusement. I'll grade after the recommended 24 hours.

sich über ihre Sparwitze lachen laugh about your jokes that just aren't funny

Explanation:
I feel "Sparwitz" is a sort of "poor man's joke", or perhaps a "joke that can't afford a punch line".

Unless your context (what context????) tells you that it is a spiteful joke that gets a cheap laugh out of somebody's misfortune or personal characteristics. (If this is the meaning, then I would support the answers that suggested "cheap joke")

Lacht ihr nur über eure Sparwitze. You're just cracking yourselves up, aren't you? / You guys are easily amused.

Explanation:
The basic meaning of Sparwitz (lame joke) has already been explained. Depending on the context, you might go for a more liberal translation here.
