German to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature | | German term or phrase: Kultursprache | This is from an afterword on Kafka's "A Country Doctor" which is to be published after the stories. It comes from the section on the reception of his works.
"Heute sind seine Bücher in alle **Kultursprachen** übersetzt und man staunt oft, wie weit die Wirkung des Autors tatsächlich reicht."
LEO gives "civilised language" and I've also found "language of a civilised people" which sounds dreadfully imperialist and un-PC! Are there any alternatives out there? |

| | major language | Explanation: I think I'd stick with something like "has been translated into every/all major language/s". This is basically what they're getting at, IMO. |
