German term or phrase: Fürstenpreis
I'd be really grateful if anyone can help- I'm translating a text about mediaeval literature: 'Eine dem Fuerstenpreis dienende Sonderform bilden die von den Handwerkergilden ausgerichteten 'pageants', wie sie das 'Coventry Leet Book an;aesslich des Empfangs der Koenigin Margareta 1465 verzeichnet.'
Danke im Voraus!

Duden offers this definition of "Preis" in your context:

(gehoben) Lob: P. beim/im P. der Nationen singen; ein Gedicht zum -e der Natur.

The "gehobene" tone of the original would incline me to seek out a comparably elevated equivalent.

Analagous to the Duden example, we pay homage to nature in English. Perhaps something along these lines would work with Princes/barons/counts as well.

homage to princes???

Apropos - I would even probably use "paying" for "dienend" here :

A special form paying homage to the prince...
