No, it's not from a manual. Someone in my office just asked me to translate these two words. They want to explain something to an english speaking person. That's why we don't have a context. But it's okay, I've got the translation now: superordinate record and subordinate record. Thank you!

From Googling, I'm pretty sure this is from a software manual (you could have told us this, asker). An Aufnahme appears to be a record, and anhängen could mean attach, as in attaching two sets of data. But we're not going to get far with this almost non-existent context.

It is all virtually. You have to imagine an online catalogue where you find books which are available in the library. Maybe Aufnahme is a record. And angehängt is meant virtually.
