German to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Poetry & Literature | | German term or phrase: als gölte keine Ferne | I'm unable to find the term "gölte" in any dictionaries. Has anyone come across this. Here's the word in the context of the poem:
Schatten. Wie Pfeile gejagt, als gölte keine Ferne.
Im Sande beschwert sich der Schuh, im Winde der Flügel,
Im lockeren Laube die Neugier. Die Fragen sind stumm.
Eines von drüben? Was ist drüben? Unterm Moos bittet
Die Erde solch ein Wissen. Will noch die Hand?
“Nein.” Was will noch? “Nichts.” Und trotzdem?
Ungestümes Wort, vom Tage satt und reif: Knabenhorn. . .
Nun ist es leicht gesagt. “Was du nich alles hoffst!? |
