German to English translations [PRO] Art/Literary - Printing & Publishing / Corporate Design Manual | | German term or phrase: Seitenraster | "Der Seitenraster
From a manual about a company's corporate logo, fonts, colours and so forth. I can't find a translation for "Seitenraster" anywhere, but am wondering if it means "page layout". And does Raster have the same meaning elsewhere in this paragraph, or different ones? TIA for your assistance, and Easter greetings to all. |
| | | (page) design grid | Explanation: It's the design grid that governs the page layout.

A note concerning the other "rasters": If you open a copy of The Economist, you'll see it has a two-column grid for the leaders and a three-column grid for the rest. Halber Raster means a picture can be half a column wide, or one and a half or two and a half. |
