Makes sense to me and "Finishing" is indead used for any process which follows the actual printing, since it can include folding, creasing, stitching, binding etc. See Finishing

Well, thank you so much, but this is only the potential German equivalent. I am not really sure about the English equivalent term that would be used here, maybe just "processing" would do, maybe the print expert would rather use "post-processing", or yet another term in this context, I really don't know.

wird in der Drucktechnik gerne als Abk. für "Weiterverarbeitung" verwendet, also z.B. - schneiden, falzen, kleben, heften, stanzen....

Broschur simply means the block of paper that needs to be bound. Of course it needs a final cover, a soft cover or a hard cover. There is nothing contradictory going on here. :-)

Bei Büchern bezeichnet Broschur (englisch: softcover) heute eine hochwertige Ausgabe mit weichem Umschlag.

It seems contradictory in itself. "Soft cover with hard cover"? That can't be right!
