German term or phrase:Bezug zum Autofahren
This is a standard term used in describing one of the dimensions of Bereitschaft zur Verkehrsanpassung that must be assessed for a verkehrspsycholgische Stellungnahme. E.g.
Or again:-
Normally, of course, "Bezug zum Autofahren" would be something like "relevance to driving", but to list a person's "relevance to driving" as an attribute to be measured sounds like nonsense. So do they mean "attitude to driving"? (but if they do, why didn't they say "Einstellung zum Autofahren" in the first place).
Thanks. I ended up discussing this further with the client, who tells me that "abnormaler Bezug zum Autofahren" is a concept in Austrian traffic law, covering on the one hand an exaggerated love of cars (the "car fetishist") and on the other an excessive fear of them ("car phobia"). So it isn't quite an attitude - more like a personality trait, and therefore the term we are going to go with is "relationship to driving". 2 KudoZ points were awarded for this answer
Don't see what's wrong with "Abnormal attitude towards driving"- but thanks for your votes, everyone.

attitude towards driving
Explanation: I don't know why they didn't use Einstellung, but your suggestion is fine.
