high-ranking Explanation: I am not sure about this term never come across it before. But it sounds like that the person is entitled to secure loans etc. with a high-ranking institution that is willing to do so... Hope this makes sense. |

next available Explanation: I have come across this expression before in a contract. I understand it to mean that the person will receive the next available security. So if someone else already has a first mortgage, the next available is the second mortgage and so on. This ranking is important if the person goes bankrupt. HTH Sibylle |

[next available] Explanation: I'd go with Sibylle: There are nine hits on AltaVista, various legal contexts. The wording is always [nearly] the same: "an rangbereter/bereitester Stelle" and the immediate contest is compatible with "next available". AltaVista (German) 9 pages word count: rangbereitester: 1; rangbereiter: 24 Ignored: rangbereit:0; rangbereite:0; rangbereites:0; rangbereiteste:0; rangbereitestes:0 , e/.g, http://www.elpag.com/vertrag.html http://www.bundesverfassungsgericht.de/texte/deutsch/pressem... http://www.gesetze-aktuell.de/Gesetzestexte/vermg.htm see above |

next in priority Explanation: In addition to what I said this morning, I have just consulted my lawyer-husband. Apparently the legalese term is "next in priority". |
