"metering points in vacant premises"
It seems to me that the "Anlagen" part has some relevance since, from the perspective of the utility, that is the point where they collect their data. On the other hand, "unused metering point" is not clear enough IMHO because it does not indicate why the thing is unused, so we need to mention the part about the place being vacant

wouldn't it be possible to simply write: "(supposedly) vacant property/premises"? There are some (vague) references out there to support this.

Because that's what it is: after the former subscriber moving out, the property (and thus the meter) is not re-registered with the operator under a new name, and thus, from their point of view, counts as vacant (even if they suspect it's not).

Also, viewing this as "property/premises" makes sense IMHO, from the viewpoint of the grid operator/utility -- ultimately the meter is connected to/at a property, whoever the subscriber. In real estate too (AFAIK), properties are sometimes called "Anlagen".

Just a thought.

At any rate, IMHO this doesn't really belong into IT -- even if they are talking about SAP features here -- pls. consider moving this to a different topic.
