German term or phrase: Rangrücktritt
Under the heading "Grundstücksrechtliche Verwaltung" for a compressor station:
- Soweit erforderlich Bearbeitung von Fortschreibungen, Freistellungsanträgen, Rangrücktritten und sonstigen Vorgängen, deren Erledigung zur Sicherung der Grundstücksrechte erforderlich ist, insbesondere bei Flurbereinigungen, Instandsetzungen und Änderungen (z.B. Umlegungen).
Any ideas, anyone?
subordinations of priorities of encumbrances
Dietl/Lorenz's suggestion for Rangruecktritt is subordination and for "Rangverhaeltnis von Grundstuecksbelastungen": "order of priorities of encumbrances"
I would therefore suggest to translate your term "Rangruecktritt" as "subordinations of priorities of encumbrances"; in my opinion, just the word "subordinations" would not do because it could refer to any kind of claims where there is a ranking order among the creditors. Your context definitely refers to encumbrances on real estate and their order of priorities.
I would not use the term "postponing" because the lien or mortgage does not get postponed. Its conditions stay the same, except for the order in which the creditor can expect satisfaction from a forced sale of the real property.

Seems as though I must acquire an updated edition of Dietl, as I can't find this in my old one.
