German to English translations [PRO] Social Sciences - Religion | | German term or phrase: die protestantische Sicht oder die evangelische Stimme | Please could you help with this. I am at a loss as to how to translate the last sentence.
| | | English translation:"the one" Protestant view, or "the one Protestant voice" | Explanation: The opinion of certain representatives of the church, that only "the one" Protestant view on ethical questions should be presented to the public, was no longer convincing (not a completely accurate translation of that part of the sentence)

Dear Fionna - not as far as I know, but I'm not an expert. All I know is that "protestant" can be used for both, and that "evangelical" has, I believe, certain different connotations in English.
see the definitions here:
relating to or being a Christian church believing in personal conversion and the inerrancy of the Bible especially the 4 Gospels; "evangelical Christianity"; "an ultraconservative evangelical message"
- of or pertaining to or in keeping with the Christian gospel
- especially as in the first 4 books of the New Testament
- marked by ardent or zealous enthusiasm for a cause.
