German term or phrase: Material zur Bezeichnung (SAP)
I realise this might seem elementary, but SAP can have very specific translations for certain terms, so I want to make sure that "Material zur Bezeichnung" can be safely translated as "Material for Designation" in this context. But if not, what would it be, please?

Have been looking for a good German-English SAP glossary on the Net, but alas, you either have to pay for them, or they're only for palmtop computers, or the sites are obsolete! Anyway, TIA for your help.

material for designation

you're perfectly correct especially if this has to do with a patent

This has nothing to do with patents. SAP is a kind of computer software for keeping stock inventories, tracking orders etc.

While my own further research hasn't yielded anything absolutely conclusive, "material for description" appears to be the most likely in an SAP context. Thanks anyway for your help.
