KONTEXT: ,,Durch das manuelle oder mit dem Event Manager unterstützte Setzen der Status ,,in Ausführung" und ,,ausgeführt" (siehe Kapitel 3, ,,Event-Management-Prozesse'') steuert der Transportauftrag seiner Beendigung entgegen.''

I'm looking for a translation for ,,entgegensteuern" in the above context. I think it may mean to "countersteer" in the sense that setting the status to the options mentioned above will 'prevent' or perhaps 'hinder' the completion of the order. Is it clearer to anyone else?
