Durmast Oak / Sessile Oak

Identification: The Durmast Oak is very similar in appearance to the English and Garry Oaks. It achieves about 40 m in height with a growth habit somewhat narrower than that of the English Oak. The acorns are sessile and not on a stalk, hence the other common name, Sessile Oak. The leaves have 3 deep lobes on each side. They are deep dull green on top and have longer petioles than the English Oak. The Garry Oak has thicker, shinier leaves.
Habitat: This tree is native to Europe. It can be found quite widely, but prefers mountainous areas.
Uses: A bark tea has been used to treat cancer and diarrhoea. Modern
