Aus den Tragfähigkeitswerten der Tragschiene kann man erkennen, dass bei einem angenommenen Bolzenabstand von 600 mm und dem Lastfall 1 die Tragefähigkeit der Schiene ca 100 kp beträgt. Daraus folgt, dass das System allein über Tragschiene nicht auszulasten ist.

It was actually "stud", as the passage was about Stud Welding (invented in 1939, in case you are swotting up for "Who wants to be a Millionaire").

agree  Manfred Mondt: Just remember, not all Bolzen are bolts, and not all bolts are Bolzen..

agree  Gareth McMillan: "Bolt spacing" is great. But if you want to be really picky, Anglo-american draughtsmen would almost always write "hole spacing" unless your "Bolzen" are studs (Stehbolzen) which require a threaded hole, then it's stud spacing. Cultural thing?
