German to English translations [PRO]
German term or phrase: V-System
I am currently translated a job reference for someone whose responsibilities included: LAN-Management, PC, Novell NetWare, I-Systeme und V-Systeme. I am assuming that I-Systeme is "information systems", but for "V-Systeme" I am not too sure. An Internet did not reveal anything real conclusive. Does anyone know this?? Thanks in advance!

I am not sure about this either but in a google internet keyword search I found for example these entries:

V-System = Verkabelungssytem, which would have to translate into cable system.

Or this:
under UNIX
Alle Rechner, die TCP/IP-Protokollserie unterstützen, inklusive:
BSD-Systeme: BSD 4.2, 4.3, 4.4, SunOS4 (Solaris I.x), DEC Ultrix etc.
System V-Systeme: R3, R4, AT&T, Interactive, SCO, SunOS5 (Solaris 2.x), HP-UX, IBM AIX Silicon Graphics IRIX, DEC Alpha OSF/I, BULL (BOS, AIX).
Andere Systeme: IBM (MVS, VM, VSE, OS/400), DEC VMS, sowie Richtlinien für andere Systeme.

I hope this is of some help.
