|German term or phrase: MS-Guß|
|Context: Bei Hochstrom-Bolzenkontakten handelt es sich um ein robustes Kontaktsystem mit einem stabilen, unempfindlichen Grundkörper aus MS-Guß. |
What is an MS-Guß? I don\'t think that it is a microsoft program that pinches your butt, but... ;) Guß is cast iron but what does the MS do to it? Help
"Guss" ist not just cast-iron but cast anything in a technical context. My first thought was "Meehanite-Sandguss" which is a proprietary casting process (details in the URL below) but considering the subject is electrical engineering I suspect the expansion of "MS-Guss" is a banal "Messing-Guss" which in your case would translate to "a brass casting". The second URL is from a company which manufacures parts out of "ST-Guss, AL-Guss, MS-Guss" ie, iron, aluminium and brass castings.
