Der gewaschene Sand wird durch die Sandaustragsschnecke unter dem Düsenboden abgezogen und
statisch entwässert. Diese Schnecke ist wellenlos und dadurch ohne untere Lagerung.

Ein geringer Teil des Waschwasserstromes wird durch die Austragsschnecke geführt und über eine Überfallkante mit Feinsieb abgezogen. Dadurch wird das Wasser in dieser Schnecke permanent erneuert.

Als Waschwasser sollte bevorzugt Brauchwasser, z. B. aus der Nachklärung, verwendet werden.
