Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase: druckujet / ujet / sujet
This term has to do with printer technology. Even though I see the term everywhere, I can't quite put my finger on what the precise meaning, although I have an idea that it may be a means for dispersing powder or ink.

Context:
"Die Tests zeigten, daß nach jetzigem Stand nur leichte Drucksujets mit dem "Puderersatzstoff" ablegefrei gedruckt werden können."
Carla DiFranco
the subject [which is] to be printed / artwork / content...
Explanation:
This is an artsy-craftsy term and seems to be applied to a lot of different contents.
Artwork comes to mind as a possible translation, but then again, it might be too broad a term.
Anyway, just to give you a few more suggestions and maybe a bit of background info:

Sujet [zy'¦e:], das; -s, -s <franz.> (Gegenstand künstlerischer Darstellung; Stoff)
(c) Dudenverlag
Sujet n Kunst: subject
(c) Langenscheidt

See, for instance, the following 2 excerpts pertaining to "sujet":
Farbduktor [ink duct roller] Farbdosierwalze an Buch- oder Flachdruckmaschinen, von der aus mit Hilfe von Zonenschrauben je nach Drucksujet unterschiedliche Farbmengen an das Farbwerk weitergegeben werden

Druckträger jene Form, die das zu druckende Sujet enthält und die Farbe direkt oder indirekt auf den ↑Bedruckstoff überträgt

Explanation:
'sujet' in Drucksujet seems to be French = object, theme, subject, topic

Many web pages have Drucksujet as a topic without explaining what it means:
