suggestion Explanation: They are speaking of ways to control the hydrologic cycle using diaphragms. The hydrologic cycle consists of inflows, outflows, and storage. Inflows add water to the different parts of the hydrologic system, while outflows remove water. Storage is the retention of water by parts of the system. Because water movement is cyclical, an inflow for one part of the system is an outflow for another. Controlling the cycle or the Wasserkreislauf (which is represented by a loop) using artificial means (as in your sentence) would affect everyting, including costs. I would altogether ignore prozessnah since it\'s inherent in the sentence and suggest the ff: \"...simultaneous cost minimization, for example, by controlling the hydrologic cycle using diaphragm technology or...
