für sich

English translation: independently

Tech/Engineering
German term or phrase: für sich
This is from a standard on statistical evaluation:

"Die hier genannten statistischen Kennwerte gelten für Meßergebnisse, die an einer Prüfstelle für sich unter sogenannten Wiederholbedingungen gewonnen wurden. Sie müssen nicht identisch sein mit den Kennwerten, die unter Vergleichs-bedingungen, die zwischen verschiedenen Prüfstellen, z.B. in Ringversuchen, gewonnen werden.

I think this means that "the statistical parameters named in this standard apply to results obtained independently at a single measuring/observation point under so-called "conditions of reproducibility" and are not required to be identical to the characteristic values obtained at different testing/observation points under comparable or similar conditions, for example in cooperative or inter-laboratory testing"

but am not 100% sure and would appreciate confirmation or correction. TIA, Beth

Thanks very much to both of you for your help. I hadn't thought of separately, and while I like it also, I decided ultimately on independently after all.

Explanation:
I would use separately rather than independently. fuer sich literally means by itself/themselves.
