along the bank of.. Explanation: Usually shore is associated with the coast / sea, etc - here I think 'bank' is better as we are talking about a river. You would have to be quite descriptive in English and say something like the 'motorway running alongside/ parallel to the bank(s) of the Danube - a bit longwinded, I know but could you play around with that?? |
