German to English translations [PRO]
German term or phrase: Heizhalbrohre
The context is steam heating. I encountered the ff phrase:
Fluessigkeitsumlauf ueber Heizhalbrohre
"Fluid circulation via heating half-pipes----- "??
English translation:half-pipe coil or limpet coil
This is a heating coil fastened (welded or brazed) to the outside of a tank or other vessel. The cross-section of the fluid channel is semicircular, thus half-pipe. Ref 1 (German) has a good illustration, and description, and ref 2 (English) offers both 'half-pipe' and 'limpet'.

Fluid circulation through heating half -pipe/tube
I think through is a better word once it means the liquid circulates "inside" the tubes. The word via does not have quite the same connotation ( of passing inside)...
hope it helps...
