German term or phrase: Bandfassadenkonstruktion
More from the attachment to a lease that I'm struggling with (I cannot be accused of being a technical translator):
"Die Außenfassaden werden gestalterisch maßgeblich geprägt durch eine horizontale Bandfassadenkonstruktion, der das Modulmaß der Trennwandanschlüsse von ca. 1,35 m zugrunde liegt."
Does anyone know the English term for "Bandfassadenkonstruktion"?

English translation:horizontal band of facade cladding/ facade band construction
Explanation:
I presume this lovely word stems from "Fassadenband"

see: http://www.westiform.com/homepage/html/german/body_d_fassade...

for some pictures

this equates to facade band or if at the top of the building (as in gas stations, for example) a fascia band.

Another alternative is "facade band construction".

Whatever, I think the Konstruktion bit is rather redundant here. Your author has a rather pompous style, I'm afraid.

Thank you, Gillian. 'Pompous' is not the word that comes to my mind when thinking about my author's style. I'm afraid though I cannot say/write publicly what the term of my choice would be. I'm used to a lot doing legal stuff, but this text...
