German term or phrase: Nachheizwärmetauscher
in a pamphlet on solar heating
supplementary heat exchanger
a Wärmetauscher is a heat exchanger, and as can be see from ref 1, the purpose of a Nachheizwärmetaucher is to supplement the heat supplied to the reservoir when the solar collector does not supply sufficient energy. Ref 2 contains the term 'supplementary heat exchanger', and if you do a search for 'supplementary heat' or 'supplementary + "heat exchanger'"'you will find others.

supplementary heat exchanger
Ernst has something about "nachheizen bei abgestellter Energiequelle" which is called "temeprature coasting", but I have a feeling that does not lead anywhere.
A "Wärmeaustauscher" = heat exchanger.
Nacheizen = additional heating. If I link the two then it becomes too long. MLaybe you can adapt to suit the context better.
