setting wheel Explanation: As you no doubt know, a mouse can have a "scrolling wheel". The device in your phrase is also a wheel (Drehrad means turning wheel). But it is used for setting the sensitivity, so it is a setting wheel. I found this Web reference for a setting wheel that is said to be accurate and precise. There's no special trick meaning to Drehrad that everybody knows, since the owrd didn't appear in Ernst or Langenscheid.
