Explanation:
I have a very old dictionary on terms used in railway engineering.
It gives for "Längsmitnehmer": locking bar. Although it is supposed to be an illustrated dictionary, there is no illustration for this entry...I don't even begin to know what it is!...Good luck!!

Sorry, forgot the ref.: Dictionnaire illustré des termes techniques en six langues: vol 5: Chemins de fer - Construction et Exploitation (Dunod & Pinat, Paris)...it dates from the early 1900\'s!!!

Explanation:
I have a very old dictionary on terms used in railway engineering.
It gives for "Längsmitnehmer": locking bar. Although it is supposed to be an illustrated dictionary, there is no illustration for this entry...I don't even begin to know what it is!...Good luck!!
