Go with "building energy" Explanation: This is a phrase that I've wrestled with myself in times past. There is such a thing as "building energy" in English. For example, there is a group in the States called the "California Association of Building Energy Consultants" (CABEC), and California apparently has "Building Energy Efficiency Standards". So, in the USA at least, this term exists. Another possibility might perhaps be "structural energy". But I think most people would understand that "building energy" is the energy within a building. building energy Explanation: "Building energy" sounds a little awkward to the great unwashed like me but is widely used by the pros, often in combination with another noun, as in building energy management / systems, / codes -- or for the matter, consumption. AltaVista (English) +"building energy" -efficient: 6,905 pages found. Here are a few: http://www.eren.doe.gov/buildings/tools_directory/ http://www.energycodes.org/ contains links to other related pages http://www.targ.demon.co.uk/ http://www.dpsv.state.mn.us/ http://www.linric.com/ Of German origin, but providing useful information: http://www.ise.fhg.de/Projects/ES/NRG_Net_english.html surprisingly, AltaVista (German) lists only 15 pages containing “Gebäudeenergie”, but http://technologie.uni-duisburg.de/ibtw/eurobus/dih-leitlini... contains good context. AltaVista word count: building energy systems: 320; plant energy: about 1000; building energy: about 30000 see above |

building base (energy) load Explanation: Here is something straight from God, the Department of Energy, that worries me a little about "building energy" alone. - They only refer to building energy as all the energy in a building, production and non-production. http://www.eren.doe.gov/consumerinfo/glossary.html - This was also true with some of the other sites. - Perhaps something like "non-processing energy" or "non-production energy" or "base building load" might be more precise. - Many German sites found under "Gebäudeenergie" were similar, as if they often also thought of "Prozessenergie" as a part of total "Gebäudeenergie". - Using this query at Northern Light, there are almost 1000 sites with good info: +"building energy" +"energy audit" Saving the best for last, here is an energy audit site where "building energy", "base building load" and "production energy" are used. - http://www.dynamicengineer.com/newsletter/energy.htm - |
