Rider Explanation: Could also be an addendum to a document, for instance, a rider to a document is usually a written note expanding or restricting the actual contract's language, sort of an afterthought, and is perfectly legal as long as initialed by the parties to the contract. A tab is an affixed bookmark, staggered on the outside page margins. |

tab Explanation: This can be confirmed with a real life example. Go to the fireball search engine (http://www.fireball.de) and enter a search term. When the search results are returned, the following text appears above the results: Klicken Sie auf die Reiter für Suchergebnisse zu (your search term) aus weiteren Bereichen. Above this sentence appear six TABS from which to choose. Reference: http://www.fireball.de |

Selection xxxx on the tab strip / as a tab page title / as a tab header Explanation: OR XXXX as a tab control selection Hello, I think it may be helpful to translate "Reiter" in this script the way SAP treats "Register" (check the other help for "Register" at proz.com). The R3 library says "tab strip" and even changes the old 4.0 version of R3 online help in German from "Register" to "Tabstrip (Register)" in its next version. Why the distinction? My observation is: There is loose treatment of the strip--some calling it just the tab index, some meaning the single tabs, but not saying what they mean for the whole row of the "thumb index." To cut it short, for a programmer audience or a text about a script, being this specific will help, as the "tab index based navigation" between screens needs more specific naming of the various elements. Here is a general comment from SAP in 1999. "Tabs enable you to enter, display, and alternate between multiple screens. In transactions containing multiple screens, they provide a clearer overview. In addition, tabs enable you to proceed from one tab page to the next without having completed all the data. To access a tab page, select the corresponding TAB HEADER." Microsft Visual Studio comment (more for VB programmers): Changing a tab selection causes NullPointerException. Selecting a tab in a TabControl that is hosted in an HTML page in a code-behind scenario would cause a NullPointerException.
