Querwinkel

English translation: (right) angle section lateral brace

German term or phrase: Querwinkel
context: this is the last term on that wire mesh belt conveyor for a continuous throughput tempering furnace

Drahtgliederband mit beiderseitiger Rinnenkante, Zwischenstege und gelochter Blecheinlage und Querwinkel 50 x 50 x 3 mm im Abstand von 500 mm

I'm thinking maybe this is the angle at which the holes are punched into the perforated metal plate?
Any help much appreciated.

English translation:(right) angle section lateral brace
Explanation:
Here I think that 'Winkel' is being used as a short form of 'Winkelprofil', which in English is a(n) '(right) angle section' or '(right) angle extrusion' ('Winkeleisen' = 'angle iron' if it's iron, but that can't be assumed here). The '50 x 50 x 3 mm are then the heights of the two sides and the thickness of the material. Furthermore, if these are 'quer' and are located every 500 mm,. they are probably lateral braces.

50x50x3 angle

Explanation:
try this: "... with a 50x50x3 angle across the belt at a 500mm centres."

"at 500 mm centres' is engineer-speak for "500mm apart"
