circular area Explanation: "KreisRINGfläche" in your text is "ring area". Imagine the sectional area of a pipe which is cut. It looks like a ring. The thinner the wall of this pipe, the less the pipe's tensile strength. Naturally the tensile strength of a pipe (even a thick-walled one) is not as high as that of a round bar. |
