|The text revolves around the "Höhenfinder" - a device which counts the number of objects in a pile by identifying height using light sensors. "Height finder" is literal but doesn't seem tidy or professional enough. "Höhensprünge" are identified by the machine when counting the objects.|

height meter, height differences
height meter - This is a more generic term, like the German.
height differences - This might be used if looking at differences between piles. Increment might be used if it refers to the (standard) height of an object in the pile.
