cable distribution point Explanation: Brandstetter gives "tow spinning" for "Kabelspinnen". Not suitable in this context, it refers to textile industry. Kabelspinne is a distribution point, Brandstetter gives "cable distribution point" for "Kabelverteilung" and that's exactly what "Kabelspinne" stands for. The "-spinne" part of Kabelspinne refers to a cobweb like distribution. Possible alternatives: cable distribution system I would not use cable distribution box in this case. Although a common expression, "box" is not covered by the German source text. |

centralised distribution systems Explanation: Star distribution systems I have searched on Google (see adresses below) to find out what it is exactly. It is a device that is capable of centralising the connections from some signal (the mains in the google example) to other devices. It is organised somewhat like a spider's web (Spinnwebe) i.e. all cables are arriving to a central point. However, there are no other interconnections If the translation is not correct, I think at least the description is correct. www.lfd-technik.de/presse.htm www.alina.de/Alineweb/kuse/install.htm Reference: http://www.pcpraxis-networld.de/content/archiv.php?modul=pcp... |
