relive the burden on the biological stage Explanation: I agree with Tom, but you should also consider if the "Biologie" in this context may be the biological degradation stage, because you have two stages in sewage treatment: 1. mechancial (including sedimentation, which is partly induced by chemicals) and 2. the biological stage, where microbes digest the sewage sludge.
