catch protection Explanation: This is from an article about the Expo2000 in Hanover: http://www.rux.de/presse/presse_14.htm Naturally the unusual architecture of the building brought substantial request also regarding the scaffold construction work with itself. Which will present itself the future visitors in its splendourful organization, had in laborious detailed work of all trades involved is prepared. There was hardly a work, which could not be performed without stand. This had the consequence that finally approx. 20,000 m 3 space stand, approx. 8,500 m 2 facade scaffolding, approx. 2000 m were structured 2 plateau levels as well as 400 current meters console stand and 600 current meters *** catch protection *** at and in the building. In addition several stair towers as well as Lasten-und passenger hoist came for the transport of personnel and material. That received the addition for this impressing job locally resident scaffold construction enterprise Hinze, which thus on behalf of Wayss & Friday had for several months extent of utilization for six to 8 mechanics. For the enterprise was particularly pleasing, that the construction period pulled itself over the economic situation-weak winter months, so that the job-poor time could be partly compensated. |

workpiece guard Explanation: is what Ernst tells you but one has to know more about WHERE and WITH WHAT is operated in order to proceed further. It's probably something that rotates and which can hurt somebody if things come loose. Ernst "Wrterbuch der Industriellen Technik"+MW |

guard-rail / catch-rail Explanation: I have heard both terms used for safety devices in factories, that are used to prevent products (or people) from falling off conveyors catch-rail gazts about 28 hits on Google, but none that seem to really fit your context. "guard-rail" within the context automotive gets about 2800 hits, plus sites that are in context. HTH Reference: http://www.google.com/search?as_q=assembly&num=10&btnG=Googl... |

Operator Guard Explanation: See explanation for "aanfahrschutz" the point here is that it is not important that the guard "catches" something, but it is important that the guard protects the operator from flying debris. This would be the technical philosophy in English. Native English. |
