And just for the record, pretty much the only claim to fame of Droitwich Spa (where I live), in the middle of England, is its underground brine lakes - mined since Roman times - and its brine baths, which nearly got it on an equal footing with Leamington, Cheltenham and the like in Victorian times; and which are hopefully shortly to be redeveloped into a modern spa resort - although I don't think Badgastein et al will be quaking in their boots. Still, I have to stick up for brine - it's not just for tuna, but good for arthritis too! |
