German to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Transport / Transportation / Shipping / depalletizing machine
German term or phrase: quittieren
The only translation I have that might apply is "acknowledge." (Bestätigung einer Meldung, usw.) This is from an operator manual for a depalletizing station. Do you think the operator has to do something at the control panel?

acknowledge
Explanation:
you are right - usually the operator needs to press a button (or field on the HMI) to acknowledege that an operation was done, i.e. safety door closed to initialise the PLC program - i.e. ready for cycle start

-> I think reset is more used if the complete system (cycle needs to be restarted. If only interrupted, the term acknowledge is used (at least in the industry I work in (automation, conveyor systems and PLC controlled "stuff"

agree  BrigitteHilgner: in the sense of "confirm that something has been done".

quit, leave, exit

Explanation:
I would never say acknowledge in this case. It appears to be a transitional step. You have already closed the door, which in and of itself implies acknowledge in some way or other that the door is closed. The next step is to change modes in order to do the next task. Ditto for the second instance here where you use 'quittieren'
