Edscha truck sliding roof / "Edscha top"
Explanation:
The principle of the truck sliding roof was invented by Edscha engineers in 1969. The "Edscha top" long since has become a byword among commercial vehicle body builders and trucking companies – an ideal situation for any brand product. Since 1999 the Belgian competitors Etes with their "Sesam" roofs are members of this division; since the beginning of 2002, Focus, also a Belgian company and maker of kits for truck bodies, is a member too. Truck roofs are manufactured at Edscha headquarters in Remscheid; in Houthalen and in Beringen, Belgium; in Kamenice nad Lipou, Czech Republic, and distributed in 22 countries on four continents.
