German term or phrase: Setzbetrag
In order to hold the amount of setting as small as possible, the number
of parting lines in the bolted joints/connection should be limited to a
minimum. The permanent decrease in thickness of the bolted parts is called ('Setzbetrag'). The lower the hardness and the
higher the surface roughness of the bolted parts, the higher the amount
of setting will be after a certain time.
