German term or phrase: Außenwicklung
I'm having problems with the whole sentence here, but particularly this word. The text concerns labelling specifications:

"Haftetiketten aus Papier: weiß gedeckt und vollflächig mit Thermotransferlack bedruckt, auf Rolle, Außenwicklung, Kopf voraus"

I'm also unsure about "gedeckt" and "Kopf voraus" and can't quite picture what this looks like.

Ich habe zwar den englischen Ausdruck für "Außenwicklung" nur für elektrische Spulen gefunden. Ich würde sagen, falls kein anderer Fachausdruck existieren sollte, würde ich diesen verwenden.

"Kopf voraus" deutet die Druckrichtung: vom Papierkopf (letterhead) zum Papierfuß (foot), an

Falls bei "gedeckt" kein Tippfehler ist ("gedruckt"), dann würde ich es mit "covered" übersetzen
