Bus/Financial - Transport / Transportation / Shipping / Software für Logistik | | German term or phrase: Standzeit | My colleague told me that in the software: "Die Standzeit ist die Wartezeit an einer Be- oder Entladestelle. Beispiel: LKW kommt beim Kunden an möchte Abladen. Kunde sagt er muss erst noch was erledigen, hat in einer Stunde Zeit"
Would this be idle time? Or standing time? What's the difference? Or is there another, better translation? |

I'd prefer "idle" over "down" time, since all equipment is functional, the process is just waiting for another process to be complete.
"Waiting time" would also work but sounds less technical. |

| Grading comment Thanks to all. As David said, they all work but I plumped for 'idle time' as I found lots of examples relating to GPS, tracking systems , software etc.
