Thanks David, but I've obviously left out some important information, sorry for that.

A Feldrückläufer is a specific type of defective item returned.
Example: A tyre maker buys materials, makes a wheel, then sends it to an automaker who produces and sells the car.

Phase 1 complaint: tyre makers detects defect in materials
Phase 2 complaint: automaker detects defect in tyre during receiving inspection
Phase 3 complaint: automaker detects defect in tyre during quality control of car
The defect becomes more severe, from phase to phase. If not detected until sold to customer, we have the Feldrückläufer, the most severe type of defect in supply chain operations.
