Auf die Umschaltung PZB-LZB-PZB innerhalb einer STM-Gruppe PZB-LZB kann ETCS-seitig kein Einfluss genommen werden. Das Kommando "Transition Level STM nach Level 2 am Ort x" wird umgesetzt, unabhängig ob das Fahrzeug PZB gesichert oder LZB geführt ist. Anmerkung: Hierdurch ist ein LZB-ETCS Level 2 Übergang möglich (siehe Unterkapitel 2.6).

Safety Equipments
Locomotives and railway equipments have safety systems securing safe operation. They include braking systems and train safety systems. The parts of train safety systems consist of railway signaling, safety controlling connections, intermittent automatic train-running control and continuous automatic train-running control. These systems have not been standardized at an international level. Therefore, the locomotive often needs to be exchanged at borders. The new ETCS system should have the European standard.
