Das RBG fährt auf Schienen wie sie auch ein Güterzug verwendet, damit es in eine 180° Kurve fahren kann (wechsel in ein anderer Gang erfolgt dies über bewegliche Schienen (= Weichen)

I suspect this should be RBG (Regalbediengerät) = "storage/retrieval unit" (SRU), otherwise known as "storage and retrieval (S/R) machine/crane/system, turret truck", etc.
