These are usually split into wagon groups, which are then "switched" into the appropriate siding to make up a new train, according to their destination.

In fact, your "shunt signal" is risky, because a shunt signal is often to be found on main lines, to allow "Hauptsignale" (BLOCK rather than "main signals") to be passed for the purposes of shunting. I'd favour "propel signal" in a signal-box software. |
