German to English translations [PRO] Tech/Engineering - Transport / Transportation / Shipping / warehouse management | | German term or phrase: Auslagerbahn | From a Swiss document:
• Warenein- und Warenausgang
Für das Ent- und Beladen der automatischen Förderanlage sind die Mitarbeiter in den jeweiligen Bereichen zuständig:
- Wareneingang (16 Arbeitsplätze)
- Warenausgang (5 Auslagerbahnen)
I saw the gloss entries on Auslagerung/auslagern, but don't know what to do with "bahn"
Auslagerbahn only gets a few hits in German!
TIA |
| | | retrieval/outfeed lines/lanes | Explanation: I believe this is about retrieving/withdrawing items from stock (i.e. from a storage rack system). The "Bahn" seems to be a conveyor line while the shipping bay (for loading) would come into play only at the end of this line. Among other relevant entries, my Benz/Wessels DE>EN logistics dictionary has Auslagerförderer = retrieval conveyor and Auslagerleistung = retrieval throughput.
Which products/industry are we talking about here?
