The axle spring adjuster for the rubber and metal springs sets the spring mountings prior to the wheel set installation. A centering device (6) to simulate the axle springs both sides of the wheel set aligns the spring mountings (4), each simulation to form left and right hand, dumbbell-shaped parts (6a,b) held together by a holder (5).
