I understand you're not sure about the meaning of "ausgelegt", right? It simply means that fees or similar have been paid in advance and/or on behalf of others, so "to advance money/fees/..." would be the phrase to use.

Yes, there is a certain redundancy in the German text, which I'd try to avoid in the English translation. |

Asker: Thanks for your suggestion. I thought, though, that "vorgestreckt" meant "in advance".
